PRIZE:
The Itchiball Prize winner will receive vouchers to the value
of a total of $2,000.00 (including GST) to be spent on products and
services in the Chapel Street Windsor Retail Precinct. The People’s
Choice Award winner will receive vouchers to the value of
$1000.00
This is an acquisitive prize, ie if you win the Itchiball or
People’s Choice Award, your work will not be returned to you and
will take its place as a permanent part of the MOPBA’s
collection.
JUDGES:
A panel of local personalities, local dignitaries and residents
will select the Itchiball Award winning entries. The MOPBA
Committee has selected the independent judges and their decision
will be final.
ENTRIES CLOSE:
Sunday 22nd September 2008 at 9pm.
WINNER ANNOUNCED:
The finalists will be contacted and advised of the selection of
their work after judging has been completed after Sunday 29th
September.
The prize winner will be awarded their prize at the opening event
on Friday 10th October. (In the event that the winner is unable to
attend, alternative arrangements for the awarding of the prize will
be made). The winner will be published in the public notices
section of the Stonnington Leader on Tuesday 14th October 2008.
EXHIBITION DATES:
The winning entry and other short listed entries as well as the
MOPBA collection will be exhibited at Chapel Off Chapel from Friday
3rd October to Sunday 12th October 2008.

FORMAT:
Found or produced original artworks. Submitted work must not
exceed a total surface area of 1 metre x 1.5 metres. All artworks
must be ready to hang.
CRITERIA:
* Completely devoid of technical skill (colour, tone,
perspective and shading)
* Unusual, poor or tasteless subject matters (preferably all
three!)
* Undeniable passion, driven by an uneducated hand.
ENTRY:
There is an entry fee of $25.00 per entry (cheque or money
order) and each entrant may submit one original work with one entry
form. More than one entry can be accepted from an individual
entrant, as long as it is with another original entry form. The
works can be produced or found but must be original. Prints and
reproductions are not acceptable. All artworks must be ready to
hang easily.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
1. The organiser of this competition is the Museum of
Particularly Bad Art (MOPBA), under the umbrella of Streets Ahead
Promotions Inc, the Chapel Street Precinct Traders’ Association,
Inc. Entry forms must be completed and returned attached to the
back of the submitted works, no later than 9pm, Sunday 22nd Sept
2008. Entries will not be accepted after this date.
2. Entry is $25.00 per entry. Cheque or money order should be made
out to Streets Ahead Promotions Inc.
3. Entry can be by individuals or by groups. When more than one
entrant has worked on or purchased an entry, all entrants’ names
should be included with the entry where possible.
4. Works must be delivered in person to the nominated drop-off
point. Yellow Bird Café, 122 Chapel Street, Windsor 3181. Between 8
am & 9 pm.
5. It is a condition of entry that all entrants of works that are
selected for exhibition or as the winning entry agree to the:
a) Right of MOPBA to exhibit the work as part of the 2009
exhibition and as part of any future exhibitions, and be acquired
by MOPBA for future generations
b) Reproduction of their winning work by MOPBA in its promotional
materials without further fee. All reproductions will be produced
and distributed on a not-for profit basis. All other rights of the
entrants are reserved. By entering this competition each entrant
also warrants that he or she is free to authorise such
reproduction.
6. All finalist entries will be available for exhibition in October
2008.
7. The winner and finalists are expected to be available for
publicity regarding their entry.
8. Submitted work must not exceed a total surface area of 1 metre x
1.5 metres.
9. To be eligible for entry, works will be judged on the following
criteria:
* Completely devoid of technical skill (colour, tone, perspective
and shading)
* Unusual, poor or tasteless subject matters (preferably all
three!)
* Undeniable passion, driven by an uneducated hand.
10. Entrants must take responsibility for transport and insurance
of all works to the designated drop-off address or when submitted
in person. MOPBA is not responsible for loss and damage to works in
transit.
11. Whilst all care will be taken by the organisers, works remain
at the risk of the entrant during the competition and the entrant
indemnifies MOPBA, its agents and members against any claim for
loss, damage or destruction of the work not caused by the
negligence or wrongful act of MOPBA or its agents or members.
12. All works submitted but not chosen as finalists and/or selected
works for exhibition may be collected in person from Suite 5, 4-6
Duke St, Windsor. Works can be collected after Monday 3rd Oct and
no later than Friday 17th Oct.
Proof of identity will be required.
13. Works not collected on the arranged days will incur a late
pick-up fee of $5.00, and after one week will become the property
of MOPBA to do with as deemed appropriate.
14. The decisions of the Judges and MOPBA for the display of works
and choice of prizewinners are final and no correspondence will be
entered into.
15. No alteration will be made to the works or any reproduction of
the works without the consent of the entrant. Publication and
display of winning entries will include the entrants and/or artists
name and title of the work.
16. Each entrant warrants that his or her submitted work does not
contain material that is the property of any other person. Each
entrant also warrants that the submitted work does not infringe the
rights of any third party, including copyright, nor is the work
obscene, defamatory, is not misleading and deceptive, nor does it
vilify or seek to bring into disrepute any person or group by
virtue of their race, disability or membership of any particular
group.
17. The winner of the Ithciball Prize will receive a shopping spree
in Chapel Street precinct to the value of $2,000 in vouchers
18. The Peoples Choice winner will receive $1000 in shopping
vouchers for the Chapel Street precinct.
19. Members of the MOPBA Committee, the MOPBA Judging Panel,
Streets Ahead Promotions Committee and immediate family of all
members of the above are ineligible to enter.
